Shri Rajiv Gandhi (1944–1991) was India’s youngest Prime Minister and a pioneer of modern India. Born to Smt. Indira Gandhi and Shri Feroze Gandhi, he rose to leadership during a time of national crisis and left an indelible mark on the country’s future.
Initially a pilot by profession, Rajiv Gandhi entered politics after the untimely demise of his brother Sanjay Gandhi and took office after the assassination of his mother in 1984. At the age of 40, he led the Indian National Congress to one of the most historic electoral victories.
His passion for science, education, and technology ushered India into a new era of development. He believed in empowering youth, embracing innovation, and driving India toward the 21st century. His calm demeanor, modern mindset, and forward-thinking vision continue to inspire generations.
